Druk Path Trek

The Dragons trail which also popularly known as Druk Path trek is created with Bhutan's rich cultural highlight. The trek goes between two of Bhutan’s popular cities, Paro and Thimphu.

Druk Path was an important trading link between Paro and Thimphu, crossing the chain of remote mountains that separates the two valleys.

On the usual road it takes only an hour to drive between these two places but this six day trek takes the scenic trail, over and across mountain after mountain with ever-changing scenery which is simply breathtaking.

''One of the most scenic and popular treks in Bhutan, following a wilderness trail past several remote lakes. Although it is a short trek, it still goes to a high altitude making it moderately strenuous.'' - Lonely Planet

  • Best time to visit

    AUTUMN (OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER)

    • The best time for a trekking in the mountains of Bhutan is the period from late September to late November. Though it gets quite cold when the strong wind blows down from the mountains, the sky is bright and sunny during this period. In terms of weather and visibility, this is the absolute best time to go.

    SPRING (MARCH TO MAY)

    • The period from March to May is the second best time of the year for a trekking in the mountains of Bhutan. During this time of the year, the abundant magnolias and rhododendrons cover the mountain slopes, creating an astonishing view. The sky may be cloudy during this period, but a trekking can still be an enjoyable experience. Different varieties of birds come down from the colder climates and are ready to go back to their homes when the winter in those parts is over.
  • Visa & Entry Formality

All visitors traveling to Bhutan are required to obtain the visa prior to arrival in the country. One cannot obtain the visa at their respective countries. We will organize the entire visa procedure for our guests. Once the trip is confirmed, we will send the Visa application form via email, the clients do not have to send us their passport. The final visa stamp will be issued upon arrival in the country.

What our clients have to about this trip

We just returned from the Bhutan trip. It was probably the best vacation of our at least my life. It was an ACTIVE vacation and there was little down time. If you want a holiday where you are sitting by a pool and being waited on, then you shouldn't book this trip. However, if you like to try new things, want some adventure, enjoy nature and meeting great people then go with Dzo Journey! Also, we found all of the staff to be exceptionally helpful and responsive.
